Keep funding the same, increase funding for police training especially in higher crime rate communities and replace police with unarmed community based responders for non-violent calls

 @8Q5NGWK from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

Lower funding for police departments and redirect the difference to community based programs.

Yes, what a place this would be if social organizations had the funding to do what they set out to! That being said, I think police are still essential and need continued training/psycho-social training and eval. It's a respected position but a letdown to see officers who are corrupt and abuse that power given.

No, but increase training for the police where they wouldn't feel the need to use gun violence.

 @6W63YZ8 from Washington  answered…4yrs4Y

No, increase funding for training and screening for all police departments nationwide with training to help reduce racism and sexism in officers.

yes, but only if there is still enough funding to police departments that they can still sustain themselves.

 @8FJK7XV from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

No, put the current funding toward better mental health services and better police training.

 @8GGZQTR from Alabama  answered…4yrs4Y

There should not be a significant amount of funding, but just enough for the police to do their job and nothing more

 @8L6JVDH from Tennessee  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, the police has too much funding and such low criteria to become a police officer, that anyone could join. with that toxic people join and ruin it. they should make it more difficult and put the extra funding into schools and planned parenthood

 @8LXB5GL from West Virginia  answered…4yrs4Y

I don’t think that defunding the police is the right choice but I think the should follow the same rules a regular citizen does and should go through more years of training.

 @8NZ62MS from Nevada  answered…4yrs4Y

I'm in between with this question. I believe we should reform the police with more training on how to deal with emergency situations but also give more funding to those social and community based programs.

 @8PMF46F from Ohio  answered…4yrs4Y

The funding and duties for police are too broad. Social services and community-based programs definitely need to more prioritized in cases involving children, the mentally ill, and addiction. That would obviously require more funding, which I believe should be taken from local police departments.

 @8TWBTT9 from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

No. The police should just be trained better. Most police attacks are due to racist beliefs. Police are just people. People can be taught to do away with racism when it comes to enforcing the law.

 @8XFNL5B from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

This one is kind of tricky for me. I think that police should be trained more so they know what to do in more situations. Like what to do differently when a white cop is approaching a person of color. I do think that wee need more social community based programs though.

 @8YZTXJBanswered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but for the sake of extra training. Police officers have some of the worst deescalation abilities, and need to be taught how to properly handle situations like that. Especially when it comes to members of the population who are special needs.
