• The Ford-Kenya political party, an acronym for the Forum for the Restoration of Democracy-Kenya, is a significant political entity in Kenya's multi-party landscape. It was established in the early 1990s as part of the broader movement towards multi-party democracy in Kenya, a period marked by intense political activism against the single-party rule of the Kenya African National Union (KANU). Ford-Kenya emerged from a split within the original Forum for the Restoration of Democracy (FORD), a coalition of opposition leaders and activists who were united in their opposition to the autocratic regime of President Daniel arap Moi. The split led to the formation of two factions: Ford-Kenya and Ford-Asili.
